We appreciate everyone’s support and great effort to help ensure we provide our children a wonderful rugby experience and supportive community environment.
We also acknowledge with appreciation all our Match Officials, EMT , Athletic Trainers and especially our Tournament Directors and Volunteers.
I hope we continue to strive and be good examples for these younger generations and showcase our best self in working together.
Growing the sport of rugby is more than just numbers, its relationship. To have good relationship requires positive communication, mutual respect for each other and integrity.
This is a tough sport and it needs even bigger support and care .
Let’s ELEVATE by:
Discipline on the Side-lines
•Choose Encouraging Words to support your teams
•Build a Positive team environment, be the Coach who makes Rugby FUN!! Remember we are building young mindset and teaching the values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork , creative thinking and build self confidence, while instilling accountability and discipline.
•Parents be involved as Volunteers and help create a supportive and nurturing team culture.
As we move into the Winter Season, I am encouraging everyone involved to be an advocate for the sport. Share the word so every child is given an opportunity to play rugby. We encourage Clubs to offer Touch Rugby ( non contact) program as well as Tackle to enable new players to experience the game. Offering balance in today’s digital world towards a healthier lifestyle.
Let’s make Rugby the next American Favorite Family Sport.
Keep Rugby Clean and Fun!
Sincerely
Connie Colson
President
North Carolina Youth Rugby Union
